WATER

So It is no secret, I LOVE WATER!!!!! The new Brad Paisley song says it all. Well, except for the girls in bikinis part. I don't really go for that, LOL. But I love water! Especially water that is OUTSIDE!! We have indoor pools and even indoor waterparks here, but it is not the same!

I love Swimming in the OCEAN,
Playing in an Outdoor POOL,
Floating on the RIVER,
Riding Jet-skis,
Jumping in a Lake,
Sitting on the Beach just listening to the waves,
Fishing, Canoeing,
the list goes ON And ON!

Alaska is FULL of Water to view, and that is one reason why I love it here. I am torn between the beauty of it all and the warmth to enjoy it all in. The problem is that it is just not accessible year round, and the rivers and lakes are usually pretty darn COLD! Most rivers are made of water from GLACIER run off and require a wet suit if you want to jump in. Even then, you better not stay long! There are a few shallow lakes that you can swim in, and the kids are brave enough to try, but I like my air a bit warmer that 70 when I get out of the water, LOL! Maybe I am just a chicken, bock bock! I had so much fun fishing this past weekend. Not just because the fishing was GOOD! But, because the weather was great (well most of the time) and I LOVE being on the WATER!!!! When we lived in Augusta and had a boat, Jerome would ask me if I was ready to go home. I always told him when you are ready then we will go, because if it was up to me we could stay out all night :) I love hanging out on the pier at Khun Ya's and Papa Jacks. Waving to all the boaters that pass. I would love to have a house on the RIVER! That is probably my dream. Well, it was the beach, but I know Jerome won't go for that, LOL.
So, below I put together all the WATER pictures from this weekend.

View of the Turnagain Arm from car

Kenai River on the way down to Soldotna (taken from car)

The Cook Inlet off of Cannery Road

The views from the Kenai River at the bridge to the city of Kenai

People dipnetting from the edge of the river

Sunset at the Cannery (mouth of the Kenai River)
The sun never actually set, just circled around.

We have BEAUTIFUL Beaches here!!!!!

We have Sea Gulls; they are EVERYWHERE!!!!!

We have Sand Dunes and Sea Oats. It almost looks the same...

...till you see THIS, LOL!!!

...and this.

Instead of white sands we have muddy sand and silt with smooth rocks. The rocks can be very pretty too :)

Instead of walks along the beach, 4 wheeler rides and you MUST have a 4X4 or you will get STUCK!! BIG TIME!!

So you can see my problem. I SO love Alaskan waters and beaches!!!! Can't beat the fishing NO WHERE!!! God has truly blessed this place in abundant food supply. But, I miss 90 degrees and laying out by the pool, LOL. But, since my beach is being TRASHED by the BP OIL LEAK I guess I will stay with the beautiful beaches that I love in Alaska this year :) What makes it EVEN BETTER is that my whole family is home to enjoy it with me this summer. Jerome is not off somewhere on a deployment and we can be TOGETHER!!! I am so BLESSED :)

Dipnetting on the Kenai River and Camping

Mrs. Rachel and me with our King Salmon Fillets.

My Fly Girl!

This was all the packaged fish. It was ours, Mrs. Rachel's, and the Browns.
All together it is about 90 meals!

Jerome and Mike took the kids out on the boat. The 4 kids caught 17 fish in about an HOUR!

Washing our fish so we can put the fillets in Food Saver bags.

Jadyn being silly at camp.

My King!! I pulled it in the boat while we were dipnetting. Jerome thought it was about 43 pounds!

Jerome and Jared cooking dinner over the fire on Friday night.

Justin was standing guard over the fish guts, lol. ...oh excuse me, He was counting them.

Just hanging out

Jadyn was not afraid of the fish. She was a big help when we were cleaning them, hehe.

Oh, you DO brush your teeth while camping! LOL
